ORDER

The appellant/accused was convicted by the trial Court in 62 of 2021 by the judgment dated 09.12.2022 for the offences under Section 8 of POCSO Act and under Section 354A (2) of IPC and sentenced to undergo 3 years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs.25,000/- and default to undergo 3 months simple imprisonment.

Aggrieved by the same, the accused preferred an appeal before this Court in Crl.A.No.1295 of 2022.

The learned counsel appearing for the appellant submitted that the appellant has passed away.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the State, produced the report submitted by the Inspector of Police, The Inspector of Police, All Women Police Station, Ariyalur. along with the death certificate issued by the Village Panchayat, confirming the death of Arun Raj on 01.01.2025. Additionally a certificate from the Village Administrative Officer confirms that Arun Raj S/o.Albert Thangaraj died on 01.01.2025. Page No.2 of 4

In view of the above, nothing survives in this appeal. Hence this Criminal Appeal is dismissed as abated.
