Writ Petition is filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct 1st respondent to dispose of the review petition dated 22.03.2017 within a stipulated time.
2. Heard both sides and perused the records. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
3. The case of the petitioner is that petitioner while working as Regional Transport Officer at Tambaram, he was served with charge memo dated 08.08.2012 by the 2nd respondent for charges under Rule 17(b) of Tamil Nadu Civil Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules alleging that he had failed to inspect the work of Motor Vehicle Inspector Grade-I. Consequently, by order dated 10.02.2017 the petitioner was imposed punishment of stoppage of increments for a period of four years with cumulative effect. Aggrieved by the said order of punishment, the petitioner had filed a review before the 1st 1/4 https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
respondent under Rule 20 of the Tamil Nadu Civil Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, by a review application dated 22.03.2017. The said review application has not been disposed of till date, hence this writ petition.
4. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's review application dated 22.03.2017 and pass appropriate orders within the reasonable time.
5. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court hereby directs the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's review application dated 22.03.2017 and pass appropriate orders on merits after affording due opportunity to the petitioner and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
