The petitioner is A1 in C.C.No.70 of 2023, now pending before the Additional District Judge/Presiding Officer, Special Court for EC Act Cases, Coimbatore, seeks bail. Originally, Crime No.109 of 2023 had been registered for the offences punishable under Sections 8(c) r/w 20(b)(ii)(C), 29(1) and 25 of NDPS Act.

2.It is the stated by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner has been in custody for a considerable period of time. 3.The case of the prosecution is that on 22.02.2023, the petitioners were in possession of 70 kgs of ganja. 4.Counter affidavit had been filed on behalf of the respondent. The matter is posted before the trial Court for framing of charges. 5.It had been stated that the accused, had brought the said contraband from Kolkata for selling it in Tamil Nadu for personal gain. ata 6.It is also stated that the accused is the native of Bihar and there is every possibility of the petitioner absconding. 7.In view of all these factors, I am not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
