The petitioners seek bail in Crime No.335 of 2023, registered by the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 7(1) & 20(2) of COTPA Act, 2003, and Sections 328 & 273 of IPC. The petitioners had been taken into custody on 02.11.2023. 2.It is the case of the prosecution that the respondent had made a search in the grocery shop in the name of Sri Ramajayam at Thalaivasal Perumal Koil Street at Salem and found total quantity of 405 kgs of banned tobacco products.
