Mr.Mohammed Yaqoob Kafeel, learned counsel on behalf of Mr.D.R.Arun Kumar, learned Standing Counsel accepts notice for the respondent and has been supplied a set of papers from the Court bundle. He has perused the same and is armed with necessary instructions to enable final disposal of this Writ Petition, even at the stage of admission.

2. The petitioner seeks a mandamus simplicitor directing the sole respondent, Registrar of Birth and Death, North Zone Coimbatore Corporation, Coimbatore District to register the death of his wife Mrs.Devi Ramalingam, who is stated to have passed away on 26.08.2023. He seeks issuance of death certificate of his wife and has made representations on 13.09.2023 and 03.10.2023 before the respondent in this regard.

3. In light of there being no dispute on the receipt of the aforesaid representations, mandamus is issued to the sole respondent to issue notice to the petitioner, hear him as well as any other person who may be deemed necessary in the circumstances of the matter and pass orders on the representations dated 13.09.2023 and 03.10.2023, and issue death certificate, if found appropriate, all within a period of eight (8) weeks from date of receipt of a copy of this order.
