Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, praying to direct the respondent police to alter the FIR No.43 of 2018, dated 12.02.2018 to add Sections 307 and 325 of IPC by deleting Section 323 of IPC and take necessary action. This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to alter the FIR No.43 of 2018, dated 12.02.2018 by adding Sections 307 and 325 of IPC and by deleting Section 323 of IPC.

When the matter is taken up, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that though specific allegations have been made that there was an attempt on the life of the petitioner, the respondent have registered a case only for the offences under Section 341, 323 and 506(i) IPC. At this juncture, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the respondent has initially registered a case for the offences under Sections 341, 323 and 506(i) of IPC. During the course of investigation, the case has been altered for the offences under Sections 341, 325 and 506(i) IPC and after completion of investigation, respondent police had also filed a final report before the learned Second Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore.

Heard both sides and perused the materials placed on record.

In view of the fact that the final report has been filed, the petitioner is at liberty to proceed in accordance with law, if he is not satisfied with the final report. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition stands closed.
