ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to dispose the representation dated 27.01.2025 before the District Collector on the peoples Grievance Day, requesting them to issue House Site patta and Lease-cum-sale deed to the petitioner as issued to others those who are all similarly placed persons within a time frame.

2. Ms.S.Indhu Bala, learned Additional Government Pleader, takes notice on behalf of the respondents.

3. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner and his family was living in the subject property for more than 6 decades. Under these circumstances, the said property was brought under the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board vide G.O.Ms.No.1246 dated 19.09.1988 by the Housing and Urban Development Department. 2/6

Hence, a representation dated 27.01.2025 was made before the 1st respondent, requesting them to arrange for lease cum sale deed and patta either in favour of his father's name or his name. However, the said representation was not at all considered by the respondent till date. Hence, this writ petition.

5. In reply, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would request this Court to grant 8 weeks time to consider and dispose of the representation filed by the petitioner.

6. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents and also perused the materials available on record.

7. In the case on hand, the petitioner and his family was living in the subject property for more than 6 decades. Under these circumstances, the said property was brought under the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board vide G.O.Ms.No.1246 dated 19.09.1988 by the Housing and Urban Development Department. Hence, a representation dated 3/6

27.01.2025 was made before the 1st respondent, requesting them to arrange for lease cum sale deed and patta either in favour of his father's name or his name. However, the said representation was not at all considered by the respondent till date.

8. In view of the above, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 27.01.2025, on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

9. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
