ORDER
This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025. 2.The case was registered in Cr.No.293 of 1999 for an alleged offence under Section 457 and 395 of IPC as against eight accused persons. The occurrence is said to have taken place on 15.04.1999. All the accused persons broke open the door of the defacto complainant and robbed a sum of Rs.2,060/-. The case is pending from the year 2005. Non-bailable warrant is pending as against accused. There is no previous or subsequent case pending as against the accused persons. Considering the factual matrix, context of the case, it is evident that the case is pending for more than 26 years and the accused are elusive. Further continuation of trial proceedings would impinge upon their right to a speedy trial. Due to the passage of time, a meaningful trial is unlikely, and no useful purpose would be served. 3. Accordingly, the proceedings in SC.No.59/2005 on the file of the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ranipet Taluk, Ranipet, is quashed and this Suo Motu Transfer Case is disposed of.

The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary.
