ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 28.09.2024 for renewal of Passport in File No.MA3076815333924, dated 07.08.2024.

2. When this writ petition is taken up for hearing, learned Central Government Standing Counsel appearing for the first respondent, on instructions, submits that Passport was issued to the petitioner in Passport No.C0454461, dated 07.08.2024 and the same is valid till 06.08.2034. Later, the first respondent received an adverse police report from the second respondent regarding the pendency of the criminal case in Crime No.77/2016 for the offences punishable under Sections 408, 420 IPC and Sections 65, 66 of Information Technology Act. Based on the written instructions, learned counsel for the first

respondent says that, as on today, no adverse action has been taken against the petitioner and the petitioner is in possession of the valid Passport bearing No.C0454461, dated 07.08.2024.

3. The statement made by the learned Central Government Standing Counsel is recorded. In case, if the first respondent wants to take any action against the petitioner, based on the further inputs, it is for them to issue fresh show cause notice to the petitioner and take action in accordance with law.

4. With the above clarification, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
