(Judgment of the Court was made by MR.JUSTICE D.KRISHNAKUMAR) This Writ Petition is filed to direct the respondent/the Revenue Divisional Officer to issue the Online Community Certificate on or before 20.11.2024 based upon the community certificate already issued to the petitioner in Certificate No.365707 in R.Dis.A2/6754/2014 dated 10.10.2014 issued by the respondent that he belongs to Malaikkuravan (ST) Community instead of Malakkuravan (ST) Community.

2. We have heard Mr.V.Elangovan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.M.Venkateshwaran, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondent.

According to the learned counsel for the petitioner, as per the Schedule, the petitioner is belonging to Malakkuravan (ST) Community not as Malaikkuravan, it had been wrongly mentioned in the Community Certificate as the petitioner belongs to Malaikkuravan. Though he sent an Application through online on 09.10.2024 seeking for correction in the 2/4

Community Certificate issued by the respondent Authority to modify the same, the respondent is delaying in issuing the on-line Community Certificate without any valid reason.

According to the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent, the Application submitted by the petitioner seeking modification has been rejected by mentioning that as the petitioner has already obtained Manual Community Certificate and after the rejection, the petitioner has not filed any Application or requested the appropriate Authority seeking modification till date.

Therefore, we are of the view that the petitioner shall make a fresh Application to the respondent/RDO within a period of two days on or before 13.11.2024 through on-line and after receipt of the said Application for modification of Community Certificate, the same will be considered by the respondent/RDO as early as possible within a period of 10 days as per law. 6. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
