ORDER
The petitioner has filed this writ petition in the year 2023 when she was doing her second year B.Sc. Nursing in the CSI Kalyani College of Nursing, Mylapore, Chennai. 2.
She had sought an educational loan from the State Bank of India and as per the counter filed by the State Bank of India (R1,R2), the petitioner had been sanctioned a loan on 13.10.2022. 3.
At paragraph 6 of the counter, the Bank states that the petitioner had modified her request in respect of the fees, for the second to fourth years alone. The educational loan was processed and a sum of Rs.3,32,000/- had been sanctioned. 4.
Sanction letter dated 13.10.2022 had called upon the petitioner to furnish a bonafide certificate from the college within six months. However, the petitioner had failed to do so within the stipulated time of six months i.e., between 13.10.2022 and 13.04.2023.

In light of the above, mandamus, as sought for by the petitioner, cannot be granted. However, the petitioner is at liberty to approach the Bank and seek re-validation of the sanction letter. It is for the Bank thereafter to take a decision as to whether it is inclined to reconsider the request of the petitioner. That apart, the 2/4
petitioner, in the prayer seeks sanction of an amount of Rs.4,92,000/-, which militates against the sanctioned amount of Rs.3,32,000/- vide sanction letter dated 13.10.2022. 6.
