ORDER

This petition has been filed to punish the respondent for committing contempt of Court by non-complying the order passed this Hon'ble Court in Crl.O.P.No.4525 of 2019 dated 20.02.2019.

2.This Court passed an order in Crl.O.P.No.4525 of 2019 dated 20.02.2019, thereby directing the respondent to complete attachment process within a period of three months from the date of receipt of copy of the order.

3.Mr.S.Karthikeyan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that he has filed counter and also submitted as follows: "11.I submit that the then Investigation Officer has identified 17 properties belonging to the accused persons and two properties were attached by the government vide G.O.No.451 of 2017 dated 18.04.2017 and G.O.No.1245 of 2018 dated 30.08.2018."

4.According to the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the respondent so far identified 17 properties belonging to the accused persons and of which, eight properties were attached by the Government order No.451 of 2017 dated 18.04.2017 and the G.O.Ms.No.1245 of 2018 dated 30.08.2018 and seeks further Government orders. He further submitted that out of 17 properties they completed the entire process for attachment in respect of eleven properties and in respect of remaining properties, they are taking steps for attachment. Therefore, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor sought for further time to complete the attachment process.

5. Considering the above nature of averments and also the fact that attachment process has been carried in respect of remaining properties by the respondent, this Court is inclined to extend the time for a period of five months to complete the attachment process.

6.Accordingly, the respondent is directed to complete the process of attachment of properties in respect of remaining properties within a period of five months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and report the compliance of this direction to this Court.

7.With the above direction, this Contempt Petition is disposed of. SD/- ASSISTANT REGISTRAR(COMM.CASES) gbi //Certified to be true copy// Dated at Madras this the day of 2020.
