Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to take appropriate action based on Government Letter No.9463/MC5/2017-1 dated 12/05/2017 and to pass orders for promoting the petitioner to the post of Revenue Inspector (Special) with all consequential and other attendant benefits, considering, the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 27.04.2017 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. ORDER

The writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to promote the petitioner to the post of Revenue Inspector (Special) with all consequential and other attendant benefits. 2.

The petitioner, who was working as Bill Collector, sought the said promotion. Unfortunately, during his service, the petitioner had also invited the registration of a first information report against him by the Department of Vigilance and Anticorruption. 3.

It is stated that the consequent to the trial, the petitioner has been convicted. Let me not enter into any further details as taking further steps consequent to conviction, the petitioner has been dismissed from service. The issue of promotion, therefore, does not arise for adjudication. 4.

Writ petition stands dismissed. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
