The petitioners, who apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 6 (4) of Tamil Nadu Scheduled Commodities (RDCS) Order 1982 read with Section 7(1)(a)(ii) of Essential Commodities Act, 1955, in Crime No.209 of 2023, on the file of the respondent police, seek anticipatory bail.

2.It is stated that the respondent had found the petitioners in possession of 13010 Kgs of PDS rice. Both petitioners however managed to escape. It is stated by the respondent that there are also two previous cases against the petitioners herein. The learned counsel for the petitioners however disputed that fact. The details have been given. So far as the first petitioner is concerned, CSCID Dharmapuri Unit Cr.Nos. 44/2021 & 58/2022 had been registered. So far as the second petitioner is concerned, CSCID Dharmapuri Unit Cr.No.177/2022, CSCID Krishnagiri Unit Cr.No.63/2023 had been registered.
