The Transfer Civil Miscellaneous Petition is filed by the petitioner/wife seeking transfer of petition for divorce filed by the respondent/husband in HMOP.No.131 of 2025 from the file of the Family Court, Villupuram, to the file of the Family Court, Chengalpattu.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the respondent.

3. According to the petitioner/wife, she is unemployed and living with her father at Chinnamman Kovil Street, Vittalapuram Madhura, Thirukazhukundram Taluk, Chengalpattu District and the respondent/husband wantonly filed a petition for divorce before the Family Court, Villupuram just to harass the petitioner. She further stated that she is unable to meet travel, boarding and incidental expenses to travel to Villupuram to attend each and every Court hearings and therefore, the instant petition has been filed. 2/4

4. It is settled law that in cases involving matrimonial dispute, the preference shall be given to the convenience of the petitioner/wife.

5. By taking into consideration the inconvenience expressed by the petitioner/wife in undertaking a travel to Villupuram, this Court is inclined to allow the above transfer petition as prayed for.

6. Accordingly, the Transfer Civil Miscellaneous Petition is allowed and HMOP.No.131 of 2025 pending on the file of the Family Court, Villupuram is withdrawn and transferred to the file of the Family Court, Chengalpattu. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
