Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Certiorari to call for records from the respondents relating to the impugned demand of Rs.2,11,680/- made in petitioner's service connection No.129018-162, at No.4 Duraiswamy Street, Nungambakkam, Chennai - 600 034 and to quash the same.

The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondentElectricity Board has produced a communication of the Assistant Executive Engineer, CEDC/Central, Chennai, dated 16.11.2021, before this Court and submitted that though initially, based on an audit report, the impugned demand was raised, subsequent to the filing of this Writ Petition, a dropping proposal was sent from the Executive Engineer/O&M/Mylapore to the Deputy Chief Internal Audit Officer, Audit Branch, TANGEDCO, Chennai North Region, pursuant to which, instruction was received from the Deputy Chief Internal Audit Officer, to withdraw the BOAB audit amount of Rs.1,99,615/-; consequently, the amount was dropped and the consumer ledge supporting the same is enclosed. The learned Standing Counsel for the respondents, therefore, submits that nothing survives in this Writ Petition for adjudication.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that if the impugned proceedings are dropped, then, the petitioner has no grievance, however, he stated that he has not received the copy of such communication, dated 16.11.2021.

3. Thus, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent/TNEB is directed to furnish a copy of the communication, dated 16.11.20221, to the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner.

4. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
