Prayer : Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing respondents 1 to 3 to provide police protection to the petitioner to enable the willing workmen, contract workmen, staff, officers and other managerial personnel and customers to enter and exit the factory premises, to enable the petitioner to send raw castings for fettling & machining and finished materials for export to its customers (ingress and egress of men and materials) and to ensure that the striking workmen are 300

meters away from the main gate of the factory premises and maintain law and order and peace in and around the petitioner's factory premises situated at 12/45, Thadagam Road, Edayapalayam (Post), Coimbatore - 641 025.

This writ petition has been filed to direct respondents 1 to 3 to provide police protection to the petitioner.

2. It is seen that the petitioner has sought for police protection. Now, almost two years have been lapsed and hence, due to the lapse of period, the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted now. However, the petitioner is at liberty to file a fresh petition, on fresh cause of action, if so advised.

With the above observation, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
