Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records pertaining to the impugned notice issued by the 3rd respondent vide General Revision notice vide E/1/18-19/577904 dated 08.10.2019 revising the property tax from Rs.15398/- to Rs.43,945/- Per half year from 2018-2019 and quash the same and subsequently direct the 2nd & 3rd respondent to restructure the property tax amount as according to the provisions of the Chennai City Municipal Corporation Act 1919.

ORDER

The impugned property tax general revision is based on the enhanced rates as per G.O.Ms.No.73 dated 19.07.2018 which has been kept in abeyance by G.O.Ms.No.150 dated 19.11.2019. Thus, learned Standing Counsel for the Corporation fairly states that the impugned notices will have to go. Accordingly the impugned demands are set aside and this writ petition allowed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
