O R D E R
The petitioner has sought for Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents herein to extend the benefits of G.O.(2D) No.64 Municipal Administration and Water Supplies (MC 3) Department dated 08.08.2019 G.O.(2D) No.68 Municipal Administration and Water Supplies (MC 3) Department dated 27.08.2019 by regularising the services of the petitioners on completion of 3 years of service from date of their original appointment with all consequential service and monetary benefits, within a time frame.
2. Heard both sides and perused the records. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
3. The case of the petitioners is that petitioners were appointed in the Panchayat of Injambakkam and Neelangarai and later absorbed in Greater Chennai City Corporation on account of merger of Panchayat with Chennai Corporation. Persons working along with the petitioners have been granted regularisation on completion of 3 years of service consequent to Government orders dated 08.08.2019 and 27.08.2019. Seeking regularisation on par with other similarly situated person, the petitioners have made representation dated 14.10.2019 to the respondent. The petitioners representations were not considered by the respondents till date. Hence this writ petition.
4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the first respondent to consider the petitioners' representations and pass appropriate orders within the reasonable time.
5. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, this Court hereby directs the first respondent to consider the petitioners'
representations dated 14.10.2019 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Since the petitioners have not submitted the acknowledgement for the said representation, the petitioners are directed to produce the same before the first respondent along with the copy of this order.
