Respondent Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to issue stage carriage Mini Bus route permit for the route Vadalur bus stand to Chinna Kannadi Cross Road via Seerakupam, Andiyam, Union Office Kulam, Government Hospital, Chavadi, Kurinjipadi bus stand back side, Perumalkoil, Kanjanadhanpettai, Virupachiaadurkuppam, Thopanayan kuppam, considering the petitioner application dated 06.02.2001 and his representation dated 13.03.2024.

By consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is disposed of at the stage of admission itself.

2. This Writ Petition is filed to direct the respondent to issue stage carriage Mini Bus route permit for the route Vadalur bus stand to Chinna Kannadi Cross Road based on the application dated 06.02.2001 and representation dated 13.03.2024.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondent and perused the materials available on record.

4. The grievance of the petitioner is that he applied for mini bus permit for the aforesaid route on 06.02.2001. The portion of the length of route covered under served area and the remaining is a rural area which is an unserved section where no carriage is in operation as on date. Earlier, the petitioner approached this Court by way of WP.No.22351 of 2002, this Court by an order dated 25.06.2002 directed the respondent to dispose of the application of the petitioner dated 06.02.2001 for grant of stage carriage 2/4

mini bus route permit. Subsequently, the petitioner sought information under RTI Act with regard to status of the application, the respondent furnished the information vide letter dated 26.01.2010 stating that the application is under consideration. Thereafter, the petitioner approached the respondent several occasions and made a representation to the respondent on 13.03.2024. However, the same has not been considered by the respondents. Hence, the writ petition.

Considering the limited nature of the relief sought for in the present Writ Petition, there shall be a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 06.02.2001 and the representation dated 13.03.2024 to issue stage carriage Mini Bus route permit for the route Vadalur bus stand to Chinna Kannadi Cross Road and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
