ORDER

This petition seeking a writ of mandamus is filed to direct the 2 nd respondent to defreeze the petitioner's account in Acc.No.10240000728025 after withholding the disputed amount of Rs.15,000/-.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he sold coconuts for a sum of Rs.20,000/- to one Meganathan, who transferred the amount through UPI mode. Based on the letter given by the first respondent, the second respondent bank has frozen the account.

3. The grievance of the petitioner is that the amount alleged to have been fraudulently received in the petitioner's account is only Rs.15,000/-, whereas the entire bank account has been frozen, thereby, placing the petitioner in a predicament. Hence, the present petition has been filed. 2/4

4. Perusal of the records shows that though the bank is situated at Tiruppur, the account has been frozen on the request of the first respondent, who is the Inspector of Police, Samalkot Police Station, Kakkinada, Andhra Pradesh.

5. In such circumstances, this Court is of the opinion that the petitioner has to approach the Jurisdictional Court within the State of Andhra Pradesh and not this Court.

6. Accordingly, this Writ Petition (criminal) stands dismissed, granting liberty to the petitioner to approach the Jurisdictional Court in Andhra Pradesh. 23-10-2025 Index:Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Internet:Yes mrp 3/4
