Respondents Prayer:- This Writ Petition is filed, under the Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus to call for the records of the rejection of the petitioner's application for the grant of new electricity 1/4

connection and quash the same on 25.07.2017 letter No.AE/O&M/Town/Valajah/NEC/17-18 and direct the second respondent to consider the said petitioner's application and to register the application for the grant of fresh electricity service connection comprised in Survey No.429, at EB Colony, Ammur Road, Back to Sub Registrar Office, Walajapet, Vellore District admeasuring an extent of 0.34 cent in Survey No.429 in the petitioner's name on the basis of application presented and registered on 18.07.2016 on getting the necessary charges within a time frame stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to quash the proceedings of the second respondent dated 25.07.2017 and grant fresh electricity connection to the basis of his representation registered on 18.07.2016.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the third respondent would submit that the land in question was acquired by the Tamilnadu Housing 2/4

Board in the year 1986 and award has also been passed on 29.07.1988 in Award No.3 of 1988. Therefore, the petitioner cannot claim electricity connection to the land belonging to the Housing board.
