Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records pertaining to the order of the respondent dated 29.12.2023 bearing reference no A2/2790/2023 and quash the same and also directing the respondent to issue certificate to the petitioner as the names K.Tharani Raj and Prakash are referring the same i.e., the petitioner.

O R D E R

The writ petition is filed challenging the order passed by the respondent refusing to issue certificate that the name Tharaniraj and Prakash refers to a single person.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that his actual name is Tharaniraj and he is also having a nick name Prakash. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation seeking issuance of certificate to that effect.

3. The respondent by impugned order, refused to issue certificate stating that he had no authority to issue such certificate. In this regard, respondent also relied on the order passed by this Court in WP.No.10949 of 2023 dated 11.04.2023. The writ petitioner is unable to point out any law or guidelines issued by Government to suggest that the respondent is empowered to issue the certificate requested by the petitioner. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to entertain the writ petition. Accordingly, writ petition is dismissed. 2/4

4. It is open to the petitioner to work out his remedy before the competent forum in the manner known to law. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
