O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the 2nd respondent to provide police protection to enable the petitioner to put up construction in Survey No.670/1A2, admeasuring 3600 sq.ft., Bargur Village, Krishnagiri.

2. According to the petitioner, the petitioner has purchased a property comprised in S.No.670/1A2, admeasuring 3600 sq.ft., Bargur Village, Krishnagiri. Pursuant to which, revenue records were mutated in his name and patta was also granted. While so, when the petitioner intended to put up a Compound Wall in S.No.670/1A2, the 3rd respondent is attempting to obstruct the same disputing the width of the road to the northern side of the property. Hence, the petitioner lodged a complaint before the 2nd respondent on 25.10.2023 seeking police protection to his property while putting up the compound wall. Since, no action was taken on the said complaint, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

3. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

4. Police protection can be granted only to the life and limb of the persons and the same cannot be provided for any construction. Further, it is also seen that the dispute in respect of the subject matter in this writ petitioner between the petitioner and the 3rd respondent is of civil in nature. The petitioner, instead of approaching the civil court, in a short cut method, sought for police protection from the 2nd respondent. In the circumstances, the relief sought for in this writ petition cannot be granted. Therefore, this writ petition is dismissed.
