O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondents 1 and 2 to provide police protection to the petitioner.

2. It is the contention of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner that due to previous enmity, respondents 3 to 7, trespassed into the house of the petitioner, who is aged about 65 years and threatened her with dire consequences. Consequently, the petitioner made a representation to the respondent Police seeking police protection. However, since no action was taken on the said representation, the present petition has been filed.

3. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.

4. The entire allegations itself indicate that there exists a property dispute between the parties with respect to the issuance of patta. Hence, this Court is of the view that, merely because of such a property dispute, a blanket direction cannot be issued to the respondent Police to provide police protection.

5. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 2/4

However, the petitioner is at liberty to lodge a complaint before the respondent Police whenever any threat or offence perpetrated against her. On receipt of such complaint, the respondent Police shall conduct an enquiry and take appropriate action in accordance with law. 11.09.2025 ham To 1.
