ORDER

The Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Writ of Mandamus seeking release of a vehicle bearing Registration No.TN 52 D 1114, an Ashok Leyland Lorry which has been seized by the 2nd respondent on the allegations that the petitioner had engaged the said lorry for transporting rice, on 12.07.2022.

2. The said Lorry is still in the custody of the 2nd respondent. But the 1st respondent/District Revenue Officer is the competent authority to examine the issue of release of a vehicle.

3. The petitioner may approach the 1st respondent/District Revenue Officer, Krishnagiri on 09.01.2023 between 11.00 a.m., and 2.00 p.m., and give a representation about the release of the vehicle. The 1st respondent may take a considered decision on the said representation. At any rate, pass orders on or before 31.01.2023. 2/4

4. With the said observation, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No order as to costs.
