ORDER

The petitioner had filed a petition under the Maintenance and Welfare of the Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007, before the Revenue Divisional Officer at Villupuram.

2. The petitioner had executed a Settlement Deed, dated 12.03.2020 infavour of the 2nd respondent.

3. The Settlement Deed speaks for itself.

4. The Revenue Divisional Officer, instead of cancelling the Settlement Deed, had directed the 2nd respondent to provide maintenance of Rs.3,000/- every month.

5. The petitioner, aggrieved had filed an appeal before the 1st respondent/the District Collector, Villupuram.

7. It is complained by Mr.C.Munusamy, learned counsel for the petitioner that the appeal is still pending for more than one year.

8. A direction is given to the 1st respondent/the District Collector, Villupuram, to take the appeal immediately on record and consider and apply his mind and dispose it of on or before 31.03.2023. While disposing of the appeal, it may be ensured that notices are served on the 2nd respondent and orders are passed in the presence of both the petitioner and the 2nd respondent.

9. With the said observations, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No order as to costs.
