ORDER
This writ petition has been filed in the nature of Mandamus seeking a restraint against the respondents from collecting current consumption
charges, demand charges and arrears from the petitioner until the respondents make payment of the outstanding due of Rs.4,65,743/-, which was due and payable for the year 2023 - 2024 to the petitioner or to grant adjustment of the above said sum and adjust the same towards current consumption charges of the petitioner herein. 2.Similar matters had come before the learned Single Judges and uniformly, it had been held that adjustment should be granted by the respondents herein.
3.The learned counsel had placed before this Court one such order, which actually was an order in a string of writ petition in W.P.No.22038 of 2024 batch, dated 01.08.2024, wherein a learned Single Judge had held as follows:
"4.Thus, and in light of the aforesaid admission, mandamus is issued forbearing the respondents from collecting the current consumption charges and directing the respondents to adjust the outstanding dues first as against the charges."
4.A similar mandamus is issued restraining the respondents from collecting the current consumption charges and directing the respondent to adjust the outstanding dues first against the charges. Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
