The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus to direct the first and second respondents to recognize that both names, viz., N. Palaniammal and N. Jayalakshmi, belong to the same person in the records and to update their records accordingly, and to grant the pension benefits due to the petitioner as the legitimate widow of the deceased Nagarathinam, D.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the respondents have not paid the pension after the death of her husband, viz., Nagarathinam.D. It is the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner that, due to the change of her name from N. Palaniammal to N. Jayalakshmi, the respondents are delaying the payment. In this connection, the petitioner has given a representation dated 07.04.2025 to the respondents, but there was no response to the same.

3. At this juncture, the learned counsel for the respondents would submit that, apart from the change in the petitioner's name, there is also a change in the date of birth. They would further submit that they would consider the said representation of the petitioner within a reasonable time.

4. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the said fair submission made by the learned Standing Counsel, without going to the merits of this Writ Petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.04.2025, and pass orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that the petitioner is directed to cooperate with the respondents by producing required documents.
