The petitioner has sought a Mandamus directing the respondent to consider his application for appointment to the post of Upper Divisional Clerk (UDC) from the existing selected list of candidates, published on 11.05.2017.
2. Heard the detailed submissions of Mr.N.S.Nandakumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.V.Rajasekar, learned counsel for the respondent.
3. The petitioner seeks a positive order from this Court directing the respondents to appoint him in the post of UDC in the Central University of Tamil Nadu.

4. A provisional notification has been issued by the respondent on 03.09.2016 wherein, the name of the petitioner figures at Sl.No.25 in the OBC Category. Thereafter, vide notification dated 11.05.2017 issued after the written examination, the name of the petitioner figures at Sl.No.8, 5th in the OBC Candidates. Candidates at Sl.Nos.3 and 5 have been recruited on merits in the un-reserved list, leaving candidates at Sl. Nos.6, 7 and 8 for consideration. The appointment or otherwise of the candidates at Sl.Nos.6 & 7 is unconfirmed and neither has the learned counsel for the respondent adverted to the same in the counter. He is also not in a position to confirm the same in the course of hearing.
5. Be that as it may, the petitioner has filed a detailed representation dated 16.09.2017 reiterating of the contentions raised in this writ petition which is still pending disposal.
6. Suffice it then for a direction to be issued to the respondent to consider the aforesaid representation within a period of four (4) weeks from today and pass a speaking order after hearing the petitioner as well as any others, whose appointment may be disturbed, if the request of the petitioner in his representation dated 16.09.2017 is to be accepted.
