Mr.Venkatesha Perumal, learned Standing Counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondents. With the consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2/6
2. This writ petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondents to pay the unpaid 10/11 days salary of the last retirement month with 10% interest to the petitioners.
3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners joined in the service of the respondents corporation as Drivers and Conductors. They have rendered nearly 32 years of continuous service. At the time of retirement, they performed duty in the post of Senior Drivers and Conductors. They retired from services. After retirement the respondents did not pay the last 10/11 days salary. Hence this Writ petition is filed.
4. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that if the petitioners are eligible for 10/11 days salary of the last retirement month then the same would be settled to the petitioners.
5. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.
6. Without going into the merits of the case, the first respondent is directed to settle the unpaid 10/11 days salary of the last retirement 3/6
month if the petitioners are entitled for the same with 6% interest within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
In the result, the writ petition stands disposed of with the above observation and direction. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
