ORDER

When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police 1/4

filed Status Report and the relevant portions in the report is extracted below:

"7.I submit that during the course of enquiry, on 09.02.2023, I have submitted a requisition letter before the Tahsildar, Chengam Taluk for conducting Peace Committee between the petitioners and counter petitioners on 13.02.2023. I have received a order in No.1/313/2023 dated 10.02.2023 by the Tahsildar, Chengam Taluk by directing me to conduct a Peace Meeting between the petitioner and the counter petitioner. But, both parties did not appear before the respondent police and not co-operate with the respondent police.

8. I respectfully submit that on 22.02.2023 I have issued a fresh summons to the petitioner and counter petitioner to conduct a peace meeting on 23.02.2023. Both the parties were appeared before me for peace meeting on 23.02.2023 and gave their respective written statements. The counter petitioner has stated that he stopped the construction work, after getting the court order, he will continue the construction work. 2/4

The petitioner accepted the counter petitioner statement and agreed to compromise the matter amicably between themselves.

9. I respectfully submit that in view of the statements given by both the parties there is no requirement for granting police protection at this stage. I have duly complied with the orders passed by this Hon'ble Court."
