...Petitioner

Vs 1.The Secretary, National Board Examination, Medical Enclave, Ansari Nagar, Mahatma Gandhi Marg, (Ring Road), New Delhi-29.

2.The Director, Directorate of Medical Education, Chennai-10.

...Respondents

PETITION under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to permit the petitioner to correct the date of birth as 01.10.1991 instead of 10.1.1991 in his on-line NEET PG Application Seq.No.PG017246 dated 01.11.2019 which was entered by mistake out of curiosity and pressure and in light of the fact that the 1st respondent had allowed such corrections by issuing notifications for rectifying/correcting the mistakes such as date of birth and category in respect of previous year exams as in the facts and circumstances of the present case the petitioner will lose one year in securing PG admission. For Petitioner :

Ms.G.V.Seethalakshmi For Respondent-2 :

Mr.V.Kadhirvel, SGP

ORDER

Mr.V.Kadhirvel, learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice for the second respondent.

I have heard Ms.G.V.Seethalakshmi, learned counsel for the petitioner. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner seeks a direction to the first respondent to permit him to correct his date of birth as 01.10.1991 instead https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

of 10.1.1991 in the on-line NEET PG application dated 01.11.2019.

3. In the light of the notice dated 30.11.2019 issued by the first respondent, no separate direction is required from this Court, because the said notice permits the candidates to update the incorrect entries in the date of birth, the gender, the category of candidate, the physical disability status and the EWS status. This 'edit window' will remain open from 03.12.2019 till 07.12.2019. Therefore, the petitioner can avail this opportunity and make necessary corrections in the date of birth as permitted by the first respondent. The petitioner can also upload his thumb impression as per the guidelines set as informed to the petitioner by the first respondent by e-mail dated 02.12.2019.

4. With the above observations, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected WMP is closed.
