Apprehending arrest in connection with Crime No.229 of 2024 registered for the offences punishable under Sections 420, 506(ii) read with Section 34 of IPC (Sections 318, 351 read with 3(5) of BNS), the present petition has been filed seeking anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioners had conducted an unregistered chit and induced the defacto complainant and made her to invest in the chit and cheated to the tune of Rs.47 Lakhs. Hence, the case.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners are running the chit for more than 20 years and they have not cheated anybody and he would thereby seek anticipatory bail.

4. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent while opposing for grant of bail submitted that the petitioners had conducted an un-registered chit in the name of JP Chits and cheated the defacto complainant to Page No.1 of 3

the tune of Rs.47,50,000/-. Apart from the defacto complainant, the petitioners had also cheated other two victims to the tune of Rs.33,50,000/- and he would submit that the investigation is pending.

5. Learned counsel appearing for the intervenor submitted that the petitioner had induced the defacto complainant and cheated him to the tune of Rs.47,50,000/-.

6. Considering the gravity of the offence committed by the petitioners, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

7. Accordingly, this Criminal Original petition is dismissed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petition is closed.
