The petitioner herein, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 4(1)(A) of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition (Amendment) Act, 2024 in Crime No.62 of 2025 on the file of the respondent, seeks anticipatory bail. 1/4

2.The allegation against this petitioner is that while the police party conducting search, the 2nd accused was transporting 72 bottles of foreign liquor without any valid licence or permission from the godown of A1. Further, it was revealed that another 206 bottles of foreign liquor were stored in the godown which belongs to the petitioner herein. Hence, the case. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is not owning any godown and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that based on the confession statement of A2, this petitioner was arrayed as an accused. Hence, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent submitted that the liquor bottles were recovered from the godown of the petitioner and there is one previous case of similar nature. Hence, he opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 5.Considering the huge quantity of liquor bottles recovered from the godown of the petitioner and there is one previous case of similar nature, I 2/4

am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
