The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate (Fast Track Court), Ambattur, to dispose of the case in S.T.C.No.20 of 2024 within the stipulated time.

2. The contention of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner is that the petitioner's husband had instituted a case against the respondent before the learned Judicial Magistrate (Fast Track Court), Ambattur, for the offence under Sections 138 and 142 of Negotiable Instruments Act, in S.T.C.No.20 of 2024. After the demise of her husband, the petitioner is 1/4

dealing with the case. However, despite the lapse of time, there has been no progress in the trial and the respondent is dragging the case by taking unnecessary adjournments. Hence, the present petition has been filed seeking a direction to dispose of the case.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case particularly that the case pertains to the year 2024 and despite the case taking cognizance in the year 2024, there is no progress in the trial, this Court directs the learned Judicial Magistrate (Fast Track Court), Ambattur, to dispose the case in S.T.C.No.20 of 2024 as expeditiously as possible.
