ORDER

This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025.

2. The allegation in this case is that the accused drove the vehicle in an rash and negligent manner and caused injuries to the defacto complainant. The case was registered in Crime No.90 of 2016 for the alleged offences under Sections 279, 338 and 337 of Indian Penal Code (IPC), 1860. Page No.1 of 2 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

3. When the matter was called, it is submiited that the accused pleads guilty.

Considering the overall nature of the accident, the fact that the accused has been facing the case for a long time and that he has now pleaded guilty, this Court is of the view that a penalty of fine of Rs.200/- for the offence under Section 279 of IPC and Rs.300/- for the offence under Section 337 and 338 of IPC shall be imposed. Totally, the fine amount of Rs.500/-shall be paid by the accused on the next date of hearing before the Trial Court.

5. Accordingly, the STC.400572/2017 of Judicial Magistrate Court No:II, Panruti Taluk, Cuddalore shall stand disposed of and this Suo Motu Transfer Case stand disposed of.

The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary.
