Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioners for the vacancies in the post of Draughting officer in the Government Engineering Colleges and appoint them with effect from the date of their appointment as Lab Assistant and Electrician-II respectively, with seniority, arrears and all other consequential benefits. O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 16.08.2022, wherein, the petitioner has requested the 2nd respondent to consider posting him as a Draughting Officer, in the available vacancy.

2.The case of the petitioner is that he was given compassionate appointment and was appointed as a Lab Assistant on 27.10.2010. According to the petitioner, he possesses necessary educational qualifications to be posted as Draughting Officer. Several representations were made in this regard and since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court seeking for appropriate directions.

3.Heard Mr.S.Meenakshi, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.E.Sundaram, learned Government Advocate

appearing on behalf of the respondents.

4.The learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondents submitted that he has already received instructions from the respondent and hence, the representation made by the petitioner will be considered in the light of relevant Government Orders and the order will be communicated to the petitioner, within the time limit prescribed by this Court.

5.Taking into consideration the limited relief sought in the present writ petition and without going into the merits of the case, there shall be a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the representation made by the petitioner on 16.08.2022 in line with the relevant Government Orders and take a decision and convey the same to the petitioner, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the 2nd respondent along with all the relevant documents and also a copy of this order.
