Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Declaration, to declare that the interview conducted by the 1st respondent for the post of Director of Public Libraries held on 14.07.2017 as null and void and direct the 1st respondent to conduct fresh selection for the post of Director of Public Libraries in a fair manner in accordance with law.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to declare that the interview conducted by the 1st respondent for the post of Director of Public Libraries held on 14.07.2017 as null and void and to direct the 1st respondent to conduct fresh selection for the said post. 2.The petitioner claims that he is eligible to be appointed as Director of Public Libraries. Pending the writ petition however, the learned Special Government had forwarded Government order in G.O.Rt.No.2874 Public (Special - A) Department dated 12.07.2023, wherein, the former Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation, had been posted as Director of Public Libraries temporarily for a period of one year.

3.The learned Senior Counsel on behalf of the petitioner stated that, in view of this particular posting, the relief sought in the writ petition does not survive any more. But however, the learned Senior Counsel stated that, if ever a notification is again issued by the respondents, credentials of the petitioner may be examined in their true light and be taken into consideration whenever, the post of Director of Public Libraries is to be filled up on a permanent basis.

4.The said statement of the learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner is recorded. The respondents may act accordingly. This Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Writ Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
