PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to appoint the petitioner to the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board as per his qualification by considering petitioner's representation dated 31.12.2018 on compassionate grounds within the time frame fixed by this Court and pass orders.

ORDER

By consent of learned counsel on either side, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

2. This petition is filed seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to appoint the petitioner to the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board as per his qualification by considering petitioner's representation dated 31.12.2018.

3. The facts of the case is that the petitioner's father passed away on 27.07.2009. Subsequent to which the petitioner gave representation to the respondents in the year 2012, seeking for appointment on compassionate ground and the same was rejected by the second respondent due to the reason that the petitioner has not attained the age of

18. Thereafter, the petitioner gave another representation during the year 2012 and the same was rejected due to the reasons best known to the 2/5

respondent and the petitioner gave another representation on 31.12.2018. Pursuant to which the petitioner was given employment as an ITI apprentice on 24.07.2019 and the said employment is only for a period of one year and she was relieved on 03.09.2020 vide Memo No.AE/SS/PKDY/F:APP/D.No.105/20. The grievance of the petitioner is that she is eligible for grant of permanent employment on compassionate grounds and the same was denied by the respondents. Hence, this petition.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would be suffice if this Court issues a direction to the respondents to consider petitioner's representation dated 31.12.2018 and pass orders.

5. The learned standing counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that they will consider the case of the petitioner on merits and in accordance with law.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 31.12.2018 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above observations this writ petition stands disposed of. No order as to costs.
