This case is of the year 2017. It is now sought to expedite and complete the trial in S.C.No.138 of 2017.

The petitioner is likely to retire from the service soon and the pendency of the criminal case against him will affect his retirement benefit. 3.

The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that seven accused are tried in this case and due to absence of one or other accused, the trial has been delayed and further two of the accused are not known with the conversation of Tamil language and therefore, there is difficulty in translating the proceedings to them. He also stated that sofar seven witnesses were examined and if the accused co-operate with the trial, it will be completed as expeditiously as possible. 2/4

Considering the submissions and also taking note of the fact that the prosecution has listed 86 witnesses, the trial Court shall take note of the long pendency of the case and also try to complete the trial, preferably, within a period of six months, from today.
