ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioners seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 1st respondent to conduct an enquiry under Section 36 of the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975 based on the representations dated 24.01.2025, 04.02.2025, 12.02.2025 and 20.02.2025 pending on the file of the 1st respondent by awarding opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioners within the time limit fixed by this Court.

2. Since no adverse order has been passed against the 2nd respondent, notice to the 2nd respondent is dispensed with. Page No.2 of 7

3. Mr.R.Sasikumar, learned Government Advocate, accepts notice on behalf of the 1st respondent. In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel for the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

4. The case of the petitioners is that they are the former members of the 2nd respondent association. There are various irregularities committed by the present office bearers of the 2nd respondent, for which, the petitioners have made complaints before the 1st respondent by way of representations dated 24.01.2025, 04.02.2025, 12.02.2025 and 20.02.2025. Till date, no action has been taken by the 1st respondent. Therefore, the petitioners have filed the present writ petition before this Court for appropriate orders.

Though very many grounds have been raised in this writ petition, the learned counsel for the petitioners submits that, it would suffice, if this court, issues a direction to the 1st respondent to conduct an enquiry under Section 36 of the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act, 1975 based on the representations dated 24.01.2025, 04.02.2025, Page No.3 of 7

12.02.2025 and 20.02.2025 pending on the file of the 1st respondent by awarding opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioners, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioners, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 1st respondent to consider the petitioners' representations dated 24.01.2025, 04.02.2025, 12.02.2025 and 20.02.2025 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after providing an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioners as well as the 2nd respondent.

7. With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
