ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents to disburse the earned leave calculated at the rate of 32 days per year from 01.01.1990 till the date of the petitioner's retirement together with interest at the rate of 18% p.a. for the delayed period from 30.04.2020 till the date of payment.
2. Mr.V.Rajini Kanth, learned Standing counsel takes notice on behalf of the 2nd respondent. In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel on either side, this Writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The case of the petitioner is that, he joined the services of the 2nd respondent as a Junior Assistant in the year 1986 and he subsequently retired from service on 30.04.2020 as a Manager. However, at the time of retirement, the amount due towards earned leave encashment was not paid to the petitioner, despite several representations made by him. Hence, this Writ petition.
4. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the 2/5
Government Orders dated 24.05.2018 and 26.05.2022 mandate calculation of earned leave at 32 days per year from 01.01.1990 and payment of the same at the time of retirement. On the strength of the said Government orders, the petitioner sent severals representations to the respondents. However, till date, no payment has been made in favour of the petitioner. Learned counsel would further submit that in W.P.No.20657 of 2022, this Court ordered a similar payment with 18% interest. Accordingly, he prayed for similar order being passed in this Writ petition as well.
5. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

Considering the fact that the petitioner is entitled to earned leave encashment and the fact that his representations have not been considered, this Court directs the respondents to disburse the amount due under the head 'earned leave encashment' in favour of the petitioner along with interest at the rate of 18% per annum from the date of his retirement till the date of payment, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
