This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025. 2.The case in C.C.No.1102 of 2019 was taken on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.V, Coimbatore Taluk, Coimbatore for the alleged offence under Sections 292(A) of IPC read with 63 of Copyright Act, 1957. The occurrence is of the year 2014. The allegation in this case is that the accused was found to be in possession of pirated CD Tamil movies. The accused has been facing the case from 2014. 3.Considering the nature of the allegation and the accused facing the case since 2014, further continuation of the trial would impinge upon the right to a speedy trial of the accused. Continuing with the case would serve no useful purpose.

4.Accordingly, the case in C.C.No.1102 of 2019 of Judicial Magistrate No.V, Coimbatore Taluk, Coimbatore, stands quashed. This Suo Motu Transfer Case is disposed of.

The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary.
