O R D E R

This Writ Petition is filed seeking for issuance of a writ of mandamus to direct the respondents to consider the representation dated on 29.09.2023 and to issue Patta in the name of petitioner and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.

According to the petitioner, the land in question was originally allotted to his father being an ex-service man, by the Government. Due to the age factor, the land in question was properly conveyed in favour of the petitioner by his father, by way of a Settlement Deed and the same was registered by a Doc.No.3523 of 2019, dated 23.04.2019 before the Sub-Registrar Office, Pallavaram. Though the said land was registered in the petitioner's name, still, the Patta was not transferred in the name of petitioner's father. Due to the inaction on the part of the respondents, the petitioner made several representations on various dates 29.09.2023 and 30.09.2023 respectively, before the respondents. Till date, the petitioner did not receive any communication from the respondents. Neither they granted the Patta nor sent any reason Page No.2 of 5

for non-issuance of Patta in his name. Hence, the present Writ Petition is filed before this Court for the said releif.

Heard the leanred counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.

Though the writ petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representations of the petitioner, dated 29.09.2023 and 30.09.2023, it would suffice to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representations, within a stipualted time being fixed by this Court.

The learned Speical Government Pleader appearing for the respondents has submitted that the respondents may be directed to consider the petitioner's representations dated 29.09.2023 and 30.09.2023 and pass orders on merits, within a time frame. Page No.3 of 5

In view of the above submissions made on behalf of both sides, and taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the case, the respondents are directed to consider the aforesaid representations of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with the law, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.

With the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
