2. The contention of the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner is that based on the complaint lodged by the de facto complainant, a case in Crime No.9 of 2002 was registered by the respondent for the offence under Sections 468, 471, 409, 420 and 120(b) of IPC. After completion of investigation, a charge sheet was filed and taken cognizance only in the year 2016 in C.C.No.88 of 2016 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.II, Krishnagiri District. However, despite the lapse of time, there has been no progress in the trial. Hence, the present petition has been filed seeking a direction to dispose of the case.
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case particularly that the case pertains to the year 2002 and despite the filing of the charge sheet in the year 2016, the trial is still pending, the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Krishnagiri District, is directed to complete the trial in C.C.No.88 of 2016 as expeditiously as possible. 2/4
