ORDER
This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025. 2.This case in Cr.No.154 of 2022 dated 19.07.2022 was registered for the alleged offences under Section 24(1) of Cigarette and other Tobacco Products Act, 2003. The allegation in this case is that the Accused was found to be in possession of banned Tobacco products and Cool lips. For the said allegation, he has been facing the proceedings since 2022. The Accused is attending the Court proceedings regularly.
3.Considering the nature of allegation, the antecedents of the accused, it is evident that even if the accused continued to face trial, it would impinge upon his right to a speedy trial. shl 4.Accordingly, the case in STC.966/2022 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Alandur Taluk, Chengalpattu stands quashed. This Suo Motu Transfer Case is disposed of.

The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary.
