ORDER

This Suo Motu Case is dealt with in an extraordinary manner by the Dedicated Bench, pursuant to Suo Motu W.P.(Crl.) No.618 of 2025. 2.This case was registered in Cr.No.158 of 2022 on 20.07.2022 for the alleged offence under Section 75 of TN City Police Act, 1888. The final report was filed on 21.07.2022 The allegation against the Accused is that he had been found to be standing in the middle of the road creating a ruckus towards the public. For the said allegation, he has been facing the case since 2022. There is no previous or subsequent case as against the Accused. Given the context and nature of allegations, continuing the trial impinges on the right to a speedy trial of the accused. No useful purpose will be served by continuing the case.

shl 3.Accordingly, the case in STC.955/2022 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court No.I, Alandur Taluk, Chengalpattu, stands quashed. This Suo Motu Transfer Case is disposed of.

The Trial Court shall take note of the order and accordingly classify the case pending before them as allowed / dismissed / disposed of, etc, and while doing so, consider any applications such as disposal of properties, etc., and pass appropriate orders, as may be necessary. Further, the Court below is directed to dispatch the copy of this order to all concerned.
