Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus to call for the records in BCDFGISSSV No.78/2019 dated 09.11.2019 on the file of the District Collector and District Magistrate, Kancheepuram District, Kancheepuram, the second respondent herein and quash the same as illegal and direct the respondents to produce the detenu Amulraj, S/o. Srinivasan, aged about 33 years, now confined at Central Prison-I, Puzhal, Chennai before this Court and set him at liberty.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH, J.] The petitioner challenges the impugned order of detention in BCDFGISSSV No.78/2019 dated 09.11.2019 detaining her son as "Drug Offender", as contemplated under Section 2(e) of the Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor reports that the order of detention passed against the detenu has been revoked by the Government by its order in G.O.Rt.No.114 Home, Prohibition and Excise (XI) Department, dated 07.01.2020 and he has also produced a copy of the Government Order. Recording the same, this Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed.
