Premkumar v. State Rep By
Crl.O.P.No.26943 of 2023 Crl.O.P.No.26943 of 2023 C.V.KARTHIKEYAN , J.
The petitioner/A1 seeks anticipatory bail in Crime No.193 of 2023 registered under Sections 6 (4) of TNSC (RDCS) 1982 r/w 7 (1)(a)(ii) of EC Act, 1955.
2.It is stated that the petitioner is the owner of the godown where 8,500 Kgs of PDS rice had been seized. A2, who is a worker under the petitioner herein, had been arrested and granted bail. The earlier anticipatory bail application in Crl.O.P.No.24728 of 2023 had been dismissed on 31.10.2023. It is stated that it had been wrongly stated in that petition that the total quantity of the PDS rice was 17,600 Kgs and seized from the lorry and godown. But, however, even the quantity of 8,500 Kgs of PDS rice is a substantial quantity.
3.In view of that particular fact, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner herein. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
